Designing a New Library for Hickory Campus
For this project, we were tasked with either remodeling the existing Watauga library or designing a brand-new library for the Hickory campus. I decided to start from scratch.
Fun facts:
This was my second library project.
It started as a group project, but my partner decided to work solo midway through, so I had to finish it independently.
This was my first attempt at building a physical model!
Highlights:
I feel like I captured the design language of the existing campus buildings while adding my own style.
I’ve always been a fan of curtain walls, and they’ve become a signature feature in many of my designs. This time, the unique roof lines made them especially challenging, but I’m proud of how they turned out.
